20250411-The school exchange activity with the Lutheran School for the Deaf (LSD)

The school exchange activity with the Lutheran School for the Deaf (LSD) took place successfully on April 11, 2025. To deepen our students’ understanding of the deaf community, they collectively watched the film “The Way We Talk,” which highlights the experiences of deaf individuals, followed by reflective discussions. Students also participated in a deaf experience workshop and a Hong Kong Sign Language workshop led by SLCO Community Resources, where they experienced the challenges faced by the deaf and learned effective communication strategies.

During the exchange day, students from both schools communicated through gestures, words, and basic sign language while working together to make cookies. Teachers and students from LSD also conducted a campus tour for our students, providing insights into the learning environment of deaf students. This experiential learning opportunity enabled our students to apply their knowledge, collaborate with hearing-impaired/deaf peers, and embrace the values of respecting diversity and appreciating differences.
